Becoming Pet Sitter of the Year: Supporting Animal Welfare
Becoming Pet Sitter of the Year: Anxiety Specialists
In addition to focusing on pet welfare advocacy, we proudly call ourselves “anxiety specialists,” recognizing the unique challenges that come with caring for anxious pets and understanding first-hand how prioritizing their emotional well-being is so important. Too often, anxious pets are misunderstood or deemed “too much work.” We strive to help educate both the pet-owning and professional pet-sitting community about compassionate ways to work with anxious pets, including how to create a calm, positive environment for these pets using techniques like positive reinforcement, pheromone therapies, and individualized attention. Our entire team is trained in working with anxious pets, and together, our methods have helped countless anxious pets transform from nervous and fearful to confident and relaxed.
Becoming Pet Sitter of the Year: Shaping the Professional Pet Care Industry
Jessica serves on the board of the Texas Pet Sitters Conference, where she plays an instrumental role in shaping the future of the pet-sitting industry in Texas. She currently helps lead the conversation around industry best practices, professional development, and how to raise the standards of pet care across the state — advocating for the same values she practices within her business, pet welfare and compassionate care for anxious pets. With this in mind, pets across the country will win!
Becoming Pet Sitter of the Year: Life Happens
Beyond our specialized care, flexibility and communication are cornerstones within our business at Fur Services Fur Pets. We approach our work with a philosophy we like to call “Life Happens.” This means we understand that unexpected events and changes occur — and we adapt to them without hesitation — always maintaining communication through a variety of flexible options, including texts, phone calls, or our online portal to meet our clients’ needs. Whether there is a last-minute cancellation due to a family emergency or someone needs us to care for their pet on short notice, we do our best to make it happen. By offering flexibility and understanding, our clients understand they’re not just booked appointments — they are valued as people, and their pets are as important to us as our own. Our philosophy of “Life Happens” extends to how we treat our staff as well. We understand that our team members have lives outside of work, and we are committed to supporting them with the same flexibility and understanding we offer our clients. By fostering a culture of compassion and respect, we ensure that our team feels valued, which in turn leads to better care for our clients and their pets.
