Pet Sitter / Dog Walker
Jessica Milam Elected 2025 Pet Sitter of the Year
Employment » Pet Sitter / Dog Walker
Welcome back! If you made your way here from our main employment page, you already know we’re looking for people who notice things, the kind of person who catches a subtle change in a dog’s mood or remembers a specific instruction without needing a reminder. As a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker, that quality matters more than almost anything else you’ll bring to the job.
As a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker, you’ll provide loving, detail-oriented care for dogs (and often other pets) in their own homes while owners are away. This includes feeding and administering medication exactly as instructed, walking and exercising dogs, providing companionship and enrichment, maintaining clean living spaces, and communicating clearly with photos and updates so owners have real peace of mind.
Pet Companions need to own a smartphone with a great quality camera and a fully functioning battery. It’s important to have unlimited or very high data, since our team uses an employee-facing app that GPS tracks visits, gives access to pet information, and allows communication with clients throughout the day. (If you’ve read this far, please start your answer to the hobbies question below with the word “marigold,” it helps us know who reads carefully.) Pet Companions also work in all weather, including rain, extreme cold, and extreme heat, so rain gear and non-slip footwear are strongly recommended.
